One is the scientific study and observation of the heavens, the other is the practice of using the motion and position of those stars to predict outcomes.

I wish I had a holographic model of our solar system so I could see where the earth sun and moon are during those phases and how the tilt of the earth relates to the different season and how day and night are affected by latitude and all that. I understand all that stuff pretty well but a real 3-D model, not just a video of a 3-D model, that you could control would make it so much easier to wrap your head around.

You know what's really interesting about astronomy? Sure, it's best if you have a telescope, but with a cheap pair of binoculars you can see some pretty amazing sights if you look at the stars. It's really quite breath-taking. I used to dabble in the smallest way when younger; couldn't even tell you which constellations are which now, but even just seeing that that tiny speck of light in the night sky is actually surrounded by purple and blue and red cosmic dust and looks so different just a little close-up: amazing.
