Getting my first dose tomorrow and the second one on May 6. Then there's gonna be a wild Frownland on the loose and ****'s gonna get ridiculous.

Hearing stuff about people being sick - not terribly, but bad headaches, very weak etc - for about 24 hours after getting the first vaccine. Wondering if anyone who has got it (Frown/YD etc) has experienced anything like that? Kind of dreading telling Karen she's gonna go through this (she thinks there's a cure for all ills, even if you're told you will have to go through this and there is nothing we can do) not to mention myself whenever in this wild wacky world I happen to be allowed to get it.

My housemate got her first dose and she felt pretty ill the morning after, it got better quickly though

I would've thought that her condition put her in the vulnerable group but I guess not. I'm not sure how often you take her out, but if she's not in a lot of scenarios where she can spread the virus I think she might be able to rely on herd immunity as long as everyone in immediate contact with her is vaccinated. You've probably already talked to your doctor about that, but ask if you haven't.

My first Pfizer shot was fine, just some arm soreness that you can take ibuprofen for (didn't get that bad for me). The second one is supposed to be the one that can be more difficult for 48 hours with fatigue and malaise. The side effects come from your immune system responding to the vaccine, so those with stronger immune systems are more likely to have strong side effects. My uncle felt like **** for a day when he got his second Moderna shot, my grandma didn't. So you should expect the side effects but take some consolation in the good chance that you'll miss them.

My first Pfizer shot was Tuesday and my effects were pretty much the same as Frown's, just some arm soreness but I otherwise felt totally fine. My wife was also fine after her first shot but she definitely had some funky symptoms after her second. I'm both very excited for my 2nd shot and also scared because I'm expecting to have some side effects. Obviously more than worth it in the end

Pretty much never. She's confined to the bed and I'd say the last time she went out in the wheelchair was maybe before Christmas. 2019.

Her exposure is minimal: the carers who see her every day, and me. A very odd time a doctor if it's needed but they prefer not to come out, and diagnose/prescribe over the phone.

Her immune system is **** so I imagine it'll be like lightly touching a paper bag and it collapses. Not looking forward to it.

Karen ends up falling between two goddamn stools. She IS seriously vulnerable but she's young (50) so for some reason our govt seems to have decided that anyone who's vulnerable has to be older, and they're doing it on an age-related basis. Just opened it up to 69,68 and 67-year olds, so you can imagine how bloody long it's going to take to get to her.

Getting my first Moderna today. It's been a while since I was a pin cushion.
