Right, well this will be short and sweet. I understand everyone is busy and you all have more important things on your minds than your journals, but guys, when I look and see a total of three journals updated, excluding my own, well, it just doesn't inspire confidence, does it? I'm not demanding everyone get on their journals – you update as you wish, I know it's not everyone's first priority, not even mine. But in fairness, if you guys aren't going to put in the work don't expect me to. It's hard to compile an update when there's virtually nothing to update.

So, this week we have

Frownland, who's http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...wnapilago.html but really all he's using his journal for this week is to advertise his new album, so if you're interested in that, well, you know what to do.

Innerspaceboy is certainly making an effort, with a new journal as promised last week, and http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...rds-9-5-a.html looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, so check out his character sketches and stories about the numbskulls he's forced to work with. This week, meet Dave: he's a special guy.

Ki is back to take us through Zelda, Breath of the Wild in a frankly excellent review as http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...is-arcade.html reopens for business; hope to see more from him real soon

and then there's me.
My idea to introduce http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...n-journal.html seems to have gone about as well as one of Chula's arguments with Frown, so expect it to sink out of sight, but I thought it was a decent idea. In http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...i-reviews.html we have Gazpacho and Gerry Rafferty, while we start another discography project in http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...k-journal.html, kicking off with Pendragon's debut. Madonna's Like a Virgin is another of the http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ver-heard.html and finally there's another new journal from me, http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...s-journal.html, with the first episode up and critiqued as only I can do, ie tl;dr.

That's it then. If this seems disappointingly short then you know what to do. I'll put a bit more effort into the update when people start putting effort into their journals, ISB and Ki excepted of course. Up to you, guys. Give me something to write about, or else don't complain when there's nothing here to read about. I can't pull journal entries out of my ahhhh that's all for this week folks!
Toodles!

Thanks TH. Glad someone read the review. Spent close to 30 minutes on it.

I actually really enjoyed Ki's review for that. Very professional, probably his best work.

I read it but I just didn't comment on it.

You left out the part about crafting that was borrowed from other open world games.

Also I have stumbled into shrines when I wasn't supposed to be there and had to leave or just simply couldn't figure it out.

So there are definitely certain places you shouldn't go and need to go other places before heading there.

I'm not trying to fight with you, but I think considering he spent so much time on the review, and was one of the few who actually put a shift in last week, it's a little disingenuous to be finding fault, however small, with what he wrote. I would prefer people encouraged others, or just said nothing. Just my two cents.

It isn't about finding fault, it was just constructive criticism since I've actually played the game and know about the topic that he was writing about. I'm sure he would take it better than you have and not see it as a bad thing.

Well besides that, I don't really understand the appeal of saying they read it, then going into another thread that's not really related to the post, and pointing out the faults. If people want to comment on the review, it should be done in the journal that provided the content.

I've got no problem with people pointing out faults, but doing it in this thread doesn't do anything or provide anything.

Well maybe so, but as he says

it really would make more sense to have commented there, in his journal, so that he knows not only that people are reading but that they're also commenting.

Anyway, whatever. I'm just saying that if I had, for instance, posted my first Game of Thrones entry and someone had reminded me that I had missed something out, I'd be a little pissed if that was all they were writing. If you're going to say "you left this out" then at least I think you should comment on the good parts too, otherwise it does just come across as nitpicking and a little unfair, considering the work he put in.

It always annoys me when I make a big long entry (shut up Batty: if only! ) and the only comment I get is a tl;dr or a stupid gif, so yeah, constructive criticism is fine, but I would do that within the framework of also pointing out the good parts in his review.
