I don't just mean from Pitchfork, they're so obviously clueless about EDM (with the exception of Sherburne, and even he's kind of a tool). Dubstep gets a ton of recognition from magazines like XLR8R and Wire, regional scenes popping up all over the US, increasing popularity in Techno (Ricardo Villalobos, Modeselektor, etc. playing it), and now a Fabriclive by Caspa & Rusko. I don't think its fair to say that you have to be really involved in Dubstep to enjoy it anymore. Maybe a year or two ago, but its popularity is only growing.

Girl Talk is the ultimate dance party - I actually discovered a lot of terrible but catchy hip-hop songs through his mashups.

What's with all the girl talk hate? Sure it''s not the most original music and he's technically nothing more than a mashup artist. But his selections are impeccable, ranging from indie bands to mainstream hip hop and he used a pixies track for one of his songs and that was when I was sold.

and you don't have to hate everything the hipsters like on principle.
sometimes it's the music that shines through

I saw him at funfunfun festival in austin this year and it was pretty good. I was not a fan based off their myspace page however, so i suggest checking out a live performance if you want a feel for him.

Default Girl Talk?

Am I the only one hear that likes them? Think of this:

A guy sampling modern mainstream music (Laffy Taffy, Julez Santana) and combining them with stuff such as Nirvana, the Pixies and much more.

It's basically remixes and mashups of all sorts of songs and it's awesome.

To continue my last post. Wow. Girl Talk is awesome. I'm not one thats into hip hop or dance music for the most part, but this is awesome. I love the mash ups and being able to tell songs that I've heard.

You are not alone, he literally mixes everything...I think Night Ripper is very, very good.

As many people hate it, I think it's ****ing awesome that he's taking some of the ****tier songs ever created (some Lil Wayne, that Laffy Taffy song) and mixes them into something new and creative. I gotta give him a ton of credit for that.

He esentially takes the diaherra filled with plums from my dog's ******* and makes into fuel for a car.
