If this floats your boat, maybe check out Apprehension (aly and fila remix). It's another dreamy breakdown.

serene. I like it

Trance definately was more interesting before "the loudness war", when people concentrated on a good production, rather than pushed multibands. The multibands actually didn´t happen until around 97, and I remember people talking about how broadcasters would run it "through their broadcast setup", and supposedly that would sound great. In hindight that was an error, as people pushed them, multiband limiters reduce all peak, and even coherence between them.

Tiesto Magik 1 is a good example of the progressive development that comes after the big trance development from 92-96. So great that Roland even made a synth with "Trance Pad" presets, and particular DSP for this in 96.

I think particulary here in Norway the big economic flow didn´t happen with this, but it did other places, but then came also the poses, the multibands, the attitudes (and unfortunately drugs) when producers were pretty much faceless before.

It is interesting to note that trance was related to the early homecomputers that could made homestudios possible also, so there was a lot of early adopter type people with level involved.
And that was ofcourse how the music was made also. I was involved myself, and it was a synced happening from Gods side, as some of the music I made, was reflected in the neighbourhood city, and everybody agreed, PLUR was understood, and I can recognize some of my progressive style later on Magik 1 also That is how God made trance music.

I actually did a whole trance album, based on the original trance genre, and feel like I have documented it historically in this way. Check out Monoteo - Mainstreaming on Spotify. I hope you will like it!

Peace Be With You.
