Well I just made a Hard Electro comp and, well, as you can probably tell by the name it's hard so it should give your speakers a pretty good workout.

Download

And there's always Hardstyle

and Hard Tech Trance (I think the bassdrum at 0:55 was created by Jesus.. or Satan. Perhaps a collaborative effort)

I'll let someone else handle the Dubstep and Drum & Bass. I'm not very familiar with those genres so I wouldn't be too helpful

Dude, thanks for the comp. Not exactly what I was looking for, but there were definitely a few keepers on there. I've been playing around more with the genres and it seems that Dubstep and Drum & Bass seem to fit my musical needs the best. Here are some tunes I have been digging over the last week or so:

Ahh yes. "Wobblestep"

I'm not too good with it so I'll let someone else handle that

Alright I want some recommendations for 70s or early 80s synthy stuff. Lately I've been in this mood where I'm listening to stuff like Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Vangelis and The Idiot. I guess not all of that is strictly speaking electronica but hopefully it gives you an idea of what I'm looking for: cold, poppy, analog synth stuff. Suggestions?

I picked up Mount Kimbie's debut full length album, Crooks & Lovers recently. One description of the music calls it "post-dubstep, electronic fusion soundscaping". I like that, and I love this album. If anyone else has heard it, I'd love to get some recommendations on similar sounding artists.

Hmph.. pretty tough. Perhaps you may like Synkro?

And you probably know Burial. I think Freebase probably could come up with something. He's way more into that stuff

Very nice stuff, CanwllCorfe. I'll have to hunt down some Synkro.

I do like what I've heard from Burial as well.

Has anyone got any recommendations in ambient music. I've got a reasonable of ambientish house sort of stuff, but I'm looking for something that I can follow up Substrata with rather than stuff with an obvious drum beat. Cheers

Default Chiptune/Bitpop etc songs

Been listening to a lot of chiptune influenced music lately, including the following artists/songs, anyone got any other recommendations?

I'm sort of interested in other responses to this too. If you haven't got it get the whole of Crystal Castles first album, xxcuzx and Alice Practise are in a very similar vein to loving and caring and the rest of the album is excellent too. Toyz Noyz also do similar stuff, although it's very hard to find. Try checking out their myspace.
