Default Any CD's/artsit you were surprised by?

Past or present, maybe something you thought would be horrible or something that you din't liek right away, but eventually grew on you..?

The Dears
Daft Punk's Discovery, in particular
DJ Spooky
The Dears - No Cities Left
Yo La Tengo - And the Nothing Turned Itself out (I think I have that title right)

kinda lost me on this topic.. i have all the albums you listed shiftael (and like them)but I wasn't 'surprised' by them... However, The Dears surpised me the first time I heard them, they are great live!

how about - albums that are AMAZING and wasn't expecting them to be...

wow you saw the Dears live??!?!? they came to town but I was skeptical on seeing them but I've since heard a live recording and they sound liek they can be as good live, as studio..
The other bad thing was that the show didn't start 'till late and I work 1st shift

joy division - at first ian curtis' voice didn't please me that much but now im really starting to grow to them. and new order. and happy mondays. ooo and i saw 24 hour party people, thats what turned me onto joy division in the first place. great movie.
