It was actually your beginners guide that I was listening to. I enjoyed it very much, but I haven't even listened to the "Older Scott Walker" part yet.

great listening week, discovered a few new bands and rediscovered plenty of stuff that's pretty awesome.

The older stuff's great too, but Scott 4 aside I'm much more a fan of his later, darker, wtf-ier work. There's an instrumental EP he released after the Drift, which is probably even more off the wall than that album. If you're up for a link, let me know eh.

Me...

1. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - 32
2. The Pogues - 27
3. Leonard Cohen - 26
4. Elvis Costello - 25
5. Yat-Kha - 17
6. Jens Lekman - 17
7. Adam & the Ants - 14
8. Soda Stereo - 12
9. Witthüser & Westrupp - 12
10. The Church - 11

It's been a pretty quiet week then.

Scott before and after Tilt are essentially different people. I'm a big fan of his earlier work too, but Tilt onward is where it's at.

Definitely. Climate Of Hunter's good stuff too, although it does kinda tail off with its second half. Speaking of his later stuff, if you haven't heard it before, youtube a song of his called Darkness (written around the same time as the Drift) - it's from some 4AD v/a comp or other (which I can't find on or offline for love nor money), and is actually pretty unsettling stuff. Has this really bizarre thing going on with the backing vocals too.

I do indeed! It's good stuff. Louder than Tilt and the Drift put together, but well worth a shot if you're into his later work. If you need a link yourself I'll get something your way tomorrow.
