I just hate buying tickets for huge shows that you know are going to sell out - it's so stressful! Especially over here when bands hardly ever visit and when they do there is only 3 shows for the entire of Australia.

I was buying the tickets for somebody else too, so I hope they're okay with seating tickets :S Especially since they were $130AU!
I've seen them GA and from seats. You'll be happy in the seats for a band like that, trust me. It's a hell of a production.

Duman (Turkish Alt-rock band) is playing next month. Should be a really fun show, they're a really popular band here so there will definitely be a big crowd with lots of energy.

Hahaha, ohhhhhhhhh my Goodness, it was absolutely phenomenal. Favourite gig so far, by a country mile. Their setlist was godly and they were just on top form (L) too good.

I AM SEEING WHEATUS ON THURSDAY \m/

I hate getting tickets for those kind of shows. As you say, the ones you just know in advance are going to sell out. The ones you know thousands of other people are getting up early for, refreshing the page and holding a phone to their ear getting ready to dial the minute they go on sale.

I once did that, both the net and the phone, for 3 hours for Morrissey tickets and didnt get them. Once the pre recorded message on the venues line was something about now being sold out i threw my phone off the wall.

I got City and Colour coming up this month, which I could give or take, but I didn't pay for the tickets so I guess I'll go. Then Regina Spektor next month, then the Hevy Festival which, frankly, looks dire but again is free for me and only an hour down the road.

I think my days of spending 3 hours on the phone and clicking the refresh button for massive gigs and festivals are done with now. Last 'big' one I went to was Kasabian last year and my poor friend nearly gave himself a stroke trying to get decent tickets. Well, unless it's Blur again. Then I will give blood, limbs, whatever....

Free Press Summer Festival 2010 was this past weekend. I had an absolutely amazing time. The bands were awesome [of course the Flaming Lips were above and beyond everyone], the people were great, it was 100 degrees one minute then around 70-ish with heavy rain and a very muddy hill for a mudslid, good beer, and an even better atmosphere. Altogether, I had a fantastic time and I will most certainly always remember this past weekend.

Now I have William Fitzsimmons in July and ACL in October.

Lots of free stuff coming up in the summer inNYC. I want to see Deerhunter who are playing in July. River to River starts this month.
Have The National and Beach House in Prospect Park next month.
I check tickets on Craigslist and get face value if something strikes my fancy as people always bail on their friends and you can get good tickets.
