Pere Ubu, tomorrow night. I've seen them several times over the years, with different lineups, but they've always been so good live, I can't pass up another opportunity to see them again.

You lucky bastard, I'd love to see them but their touring schedule is painfully lacking in California venues .

Very close to seeing Karnivool and TesseracT in November, I do have Damnation festival a week earlier and a family party 2 days later than the gig but I really want to see both bands and on the same bill together not too far away logistically is something I really shouldn't miss but King Prawn and Random Hand are playing a day after the family get together too! What a week or so that would be if I could fit it all in.

So apart from who I HOPE to see, confirmed is Damnation festival in November - Carcass, Katatonia and Crippled Black Phoenix are highlights. The Mission and Fields of the Nephilim in December and Black Sabbath 5 days later (support from Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats - hell yeah).

^^I haven't booked my Damnation ticket yet but I'll let you know when I do fella. I saw Katatonia once and didn't enjoy them but the line-up is brilliant. Carcass, Year of No Light, Crippled Black Phoenix, Cult of Luna and Conan? Yes, please!

Also, Jackhammer, have you seen this?

There are two more headliners still to be announced.

Going to see The GrandMothers of Invention this Saturday night.
Two former members of The Mothers of Invention, playing with three other musicians.

Napoleon Murphy Brock (with the Mothers from 1974 -1984) on vocals & tenor saxophone, Don Preston (with the Mothers from 1966 -1974) on piano, keyboard synthesizers, electronics, magic, & vocals, along with Christopher Garcia on drums, percussion, marimba, & vocals, "Mad" Max Kutner on electric guitar, and Dave Johnsen on bass.

That show does look fantastic. Neurosis, Doom and Wolf Brigade would be a good time indeed.

Gonna hit up Deltron 3030. Its an early birthday gift from my lady.

How was Fountains of Wayne? I LOVE their studio albums but live they come across as limp and lifeless.

I saw Bleached last week for $7 bucks - they did a great job.

They were good but you make a good point, The lead singer is 'thank you' but no joy as if he was going to work and did a good job. Though they did get some girls on stage to 'help' out playing percussion on a song but that was the bass player.
Whereas you could tell Soul Asylum was having fun being there and playing for us.
