I JUST FOUND OUT MUSE ARE COMING TO MELBOURNE IN DECEMBER.

This excited me so much that I felt the need to use capslock. There is only one show (which is ridiculous) so it's going to be bloody hard trying to get tickets but I'll try anyway. The only problem is that I can't find out ANYWHERE how much the tickets are... I want to know before they come on sale!

EDIT: Just found out tickets are $120. Fuck.

ISIS is finishing their current tour and doing Bonnaroo as well before calling it quits.

I'm so jealous of you Brits and Americans being able to go to massive music festivals.

MUSE are certainly becoming yet another set of money-grabbing bastards as they get more and more popular. I think the festival i went to when i saw them the first time was cheaper than a ticket for one of their shows now. They are a very, very tight live band and i think you would love them but that IS expensive.

I know, I really want to see them. I have loved them since forever, even though I'm not too keen on their recent direction, and everybody I speak to says they put on a fantastic show. They played at a music festival last summer and tickets to the festival were about $150AU PLUS there were a bazillion other bands!! So $120 for a singular show is pretty steep. I'd be willing to pay it, but tickets go on sale in just over a week and I don't know if I'll have the money spare... plus my guess is that tickets will sell out in a few hours as they always do here!

I would treat it as a one off if you can afford it, especially as you have liked them for such a long time. They are definitely worth seeing live.

We have a few music festivals but nothing on the scale of Bonnaroo, Glastonbury or Wacken. The Big Day Out in Australia/NZ is usually good (past lineups here) and I went to Homegrown this year and saw the Black Seeds, Kora and Katchafire which was a blast. I'd love to go to a massive multiday festival though

And I agree that Muse put on a good show - they're quite tight live (especially Bellamy). Didn't you see Muse at the '07 BDO Kate?

Ah yes, i forgot about the Big Day Out for a moment there. I ended up going to Melbourne a few months after it in '04 because the flights were cheaper and it didnt make sense to go when it was on. Originally though, i wanted my trip to coincide with it because i wanted to see Metallica, The Strokes and Muse.

Ive never been to Glasto but have been to V Fest, Leeds and Download. Im going to Download this year.

It will all depend on the stage times when i get there. But i want to see AC/DC, RATM, Them Crooked Vultures, Napalm Death, Porcupine Tree, Slash (ill be interested just to see what he does really), Motorhead. Megadeth, Deftones, Cancer Bats, Rolo Tomassi, Suicidal Tendencies and Lawnmower Deth.

If there is no one on at the same time ill watch Lamb of God, Wolfmother, Billy Idol, Dillinger Escape Plan and Saxon.

Ill probably take the opportunity to see Stone Temple Pilots and Aerosmith as well, mainly because ill only get the opportunity at festivals. I probably wouldnt pay to see either.
