A7X on the third. Who knows why they're playing in godforsaken Fargo, but hey, I guess roadtrips are fun.

Woohoo! I'm going to see Swans on Tuesday! I'm really, really excited about this. I've been wanting to see them live since before some of you people were born!

Next for me is Placebo on Monday. They were my absolute favourite band for years up until recently, I still love them a helluva lot but they've pretty much sold out and their last record was atrocious. Besides their setlists these days are appalling.

Having said that, I am beyond stoked that I'm gonna be seeing them cos it's almost been a year since I last did. PLUS they won't be touring again over here until 2012.

There was a one day festival over here in Birmingham this year with Swans headlining and both Melt Banana and a couple of lads I know's band too, whom I really, really, like.

I would have loved to have gone. I tried to twist the arm of a few people I know but with no joy. So, enjoy it Janszoon! Make sure to let me know how awesome it was to further piss me off, wont you?

Klaxons last night in Williamsburg. Next up James on Tuesday at Webster
Unless I go out to Hofstra Saturday for Blue Oyster Cult, Public Enemy, Fountains of Wayne, Sha Na Na and Lisa Lisa.

Meh I saw them twice, if you're into their old stuff at all, you will more than likely be disappointed. I saw them once in 2005, when they were first coming on the scene and they were a pretty decent live show. Saw them again in 2007 after they broke big at the HOB Chicago, it was terrible. But let us know how it goes, I lost most interest in them after that show, so I haven't heard anything about them in quite a while.

I don't know about that, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. They played in Minneapolis just over a month ago and the local rock station basically said it was the best show they'd seen in a long time. Maybe their opinion was biased due to the fact that The Rev recently died and the show/ album was dedicated to the late drummer. Personally, I prefer more of their earlier stuff, but my roommates are huge fans and asked if I'd go. That's not to say their current album doesn't have its highlights, though. That being said, I think Nightmare is a fecking wretched song.

I used to have a ton of respect for the Rev for the intricate drumming parts on Waking The Fallen, but when I saw them live, he plays about half of what's on the album. Come to find out they used a sit in double-bass drummer on the album. They also re-arranged all the vocal arrangements from the old songs. M. Shadows does not scream AT ALL, all the old vocals that were recorded as screaming parts, he sings (poorly). I was just a bit let down by those two, the guitar solos were all played verbatim, which I did find impressive. But overall, if you're expecting to hear the songs as they appear on the older albums, you will be disappointed.
