The BBC at Bennett's Lane, Melbourne:

One of the most exhilarating experiences of my life:

Raw power, ultra-intense rock, incredible guitar sounds channelling Jimi at one point!

(Tim Berne; Jim Black; Nels Cline)

Pop Will Eat Itself at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1992, the gig itself is a bit hazy now but I remember feeling almost euphoric afterwards.

I've seen tons of great concerts. These are some of the most memorable gigs I've been to:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Propably my all time favorite band. I was so excited when they reunited. I was ready to travel abroad to see them but luckily they came to Finland. The gig was so amazing. I cried during Storm and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

EF

Another one of my post-rock favorites. These swedish guys came to finland last year. The gig was great and me and my friends hanged out with the band for awhile after the gig which was super nice. They asked us if we wanted to hang out with them all night and drink but unfortunately one of my friends had to go to work really early so we had to drive back to our hometown.

Marissa Nadler (Support: Cat Martino)

These ladies were both great. Marissa plays some really good folk stuff and Cat used alot of looping which was cool.

Rubik

A really great finnish indie-rock/pop band. I've seen them many times and every time they blow my mind.

Callisto

A really amazing finnish post-metal band from my hometown. Many consider them to be one of the newer pioneers in the genre. I've seen them many many times but my favorite gig was their 10-year anniversary gig earlier this year. They played really loud and pulled out some great songs they hadn't palyed live for nearly 10 years. The gig was a great retrospective of their work.

Cult of Luna

Amazing post-metal band... what else can I say?

Mirel Wagner

She's a finnish folk singer. The gig gave me chills. She was really modest and shy in between the songs but during the songs she was so captivating and powerfull.

Magrudergrind

Magrudergrind is a really great grindcore band from the states. The gig was in a small local bar which held a grindcore fest. The guys were really laid back and the gig was amazing. I moshed like crazy and my brother got a black eye.

Spawn From Deceit

This is my best friends grindcore/crust band. I've seen them many times and it's always fun. They released a killer debut album this year.
