That track is as glorious as any Ramones song. Metallica might not be able to keep up the comparison but they did have songs that could compete. There was a hot minute where they were in fact a perfect metal band.

A fair comparison would be the Ramones and the Misfits. People actually know Metallica is a band because they actually still listen to them.

The Sex Pistols are as pre-fabricated as any pop act. The angry just don't get catered to that often, so they can't see the pattern. The Ramones pissed in the Sex Pistols can of coke, and that's the most accurate review I've ever seen the Sex Pistols get.

Punk's always been a bull**** subgenre. It's no wonder at the origins is a complete smoke & mirrors act.

Boomers generally horde wealth for themselves while chastising the young for not achieving what they did without the handicapped economic ladder.

Let's not neuter the word by assigning it to people who are logical, present facts, and have taste.

Nah I'll continue to use it for those in a boomer mindset where they hold things to irrelevant standards and are generally obtuse. Elphenor is pretty boomer too, to be fair.

Anyways, even if punk did originate with Sex Pistols, working with a fashion designer doesn't invalidate them, even if it led to people like elphenor turning it into a costume. Punk also isn't about anger, it's more about individualism and acceptance, any anger is generally directed towards institutions that pose an existential threat to said individualism. It's a beautiful philosophy tbf.
