Well no wonder rock is obsolete then because EDM, hip hop and pop all have a much better track record when it comes to that.

Oh it looks like you edited your post and I missed it, you originally just said the purpose of rock is to make women dance, I was responding to that.

But those genres do those other things better too soooooooo yeah.

I don't think it's obsolete. It's been overtaken by the rappers and country stars. Country is the new rap. They'll be the next batch of "rock stars".

I think throwing little licks into the verses is cool, it changes things up and makes songs feel less repetitive.
