People vastly over-estimate Brian Eno's importance when it comes to Bowie.

So what if he didn't invent the sound I'd rather listen to Low than Music For Airports.
And which has the better songs on it? Here Come The Warm Jets & Taking Tiger Mountain or Hunky Dory & Ziggy Stardust.....

Exactly.

I kinda get the same impression concerning the importance that Brian Eno holds musically with Bowie. Eno's influence working with other bands and artist in my opinion, is not in any major way going to carry the influence of Bowie's influence to the table. (Well..maybe a napkin)?

Exactly.

Without Eno, "Low" would arguably sound different. In any case, I wasn't holding Eno up against Bowie anyway.

True, Eno did have a lot to do with the sound on that album, but he wasn't the producer and he only co wrote one song on that album (Warszawa)

Visconti & Bowie had just as much to do with it as he did.

Oh yes, let's not forget Visconti. Anyway, my point was still that this was arguably Bowie's most original period musically, but then people started throwing Eno around.

Yeah, I threw him around some and got off topic (sorry?). I just think Eno's overrated as a solo artist.

He may or may not be overrated on a whole, but I think he's underrated as a 'normal' pop artist.

Soup was better. But I think Blind Melon was just alright. They would not of been as talked about if not for Shannon Hoon's death. They were not a bad band, but they were far from being a stand out band either.
