Doesn't do much for me as well.
Although I'm more about the rapping, so production isn't usually my main focus. I do notice it though.

Well personally as a maker of music I take notice pretty hugely which probably explains why I like Kendrick and Kanye (two dudes with some of my favorite production out there) so much more than you

I'm a maker of music as well, so it's not like I have no idea about the whole thing.
I'm still going to try to get into those two from time to time, so my opinion is not set in stone. It seldom is. But for now a big "meh" from me on both accounts.

Out of curiosity, did you enjoy TPAB any more than Kendrick's other material?

I share grindy's opinion on Kendrick for the most part, since I quite liked TPAB and some of the cuts on section.80 are great. MBDTF is one of the dullest "masterpieces" that I've ever heard, though. Yeezus had some pretty solid production at least.

I completely agree with your opinion that Yeezus is much better than MBDTF. It's more consistent, never overstays it's welcome, and the production is just all around more interesting.

I've listened to TPAB and "good kid, m.A.A.d city" just a few weeks ago the last time, but honestly don't remember which I liked more and whether I even preferred one to the other.
I've listened to 3-4 random tracks from TPAB before making my initial post about Lamar here, to be sure my opinion is still the same.

TPAB is quite a bit better than GKMC in my opinion. It's high points are legitimately fantastic. GKMC may be more consistent, but generally underwhelming.
