Sonic The Hedgehog series, nuff said.

The old games of course, the newer games try a little too hard to appeal to the "xtreme" crowd with their Powerman 5000 theme songs.

Ristar, Ecco The Dolphin and The Revenge of Shinobi had great soundtracks too. Its easy to say Genesis pwns the SNES in the soundtrack department, though SNES did have F-Zero, Link to the Past, Final Fantasy IV and the first 3 Mega Man X games.

Its still a great platformer.

Besides, more people have played Bubsy than Ico, NiGHTS Into Dreams, Pyschonauts or Shenmue. So much for popularity.

The Baldur's Gate soundtracks are great. Michael Hoenig is a wonderful composer.

Silent Hill had a great soundtrack, and I actually have the METAL GEAR SOLID soundtrack. I'm not much of a gamer but that game and soundtracks is brilliant.

yeah metal gear solid, also bioshock, knights of old republic, ocarina of time and oh the banjo kazooie soundtrack, but just in the bits where you get the special boots that make you able to walk through lava, its like a wicked drum beat and harmonica solo. ahhh rare you mad geniuses
