80. Death Cab For Cutie "Transatlanticism"

This is my favorite Death Cab album because it holds all my favorite songs, The Sound Of Settling, Transatlanticism, Tiny Vessels, We Looked Like Giants etc. I also think this is the album were Death Cab perfected their sound, its not as rough, the songwritings great and its a solid all the way through.
Favorite Song: A Lack Of Color
MySpace.com - Death Cab for Cutie - SEATTLE, Washington - Indie - www.myspace.com/deathcabforcutie

79. pageninetynine "Document #8"

pg.99/pageninetynine whatever! Are my favorite emo band though this isn't my favorite emo release (there's more to come starving-artless =o.) Anyway they build like a post-rock band, climax better than I ever have and are so intense I swear this album has its own testes.
Favorite Song: In Love with an Apparition
MySpace.com - Pageninetynine - Sterling, Virginia - Hardcore / Punk / Emo - www.myspace.com/pageninetynine

78. Ugly Casanova "Sharpen Your Teeth"

This is indie supergroup led by Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse's one and only album. It has other members, (which you can see on their myspace profile) but I only mention Brock to give you an idea on the vocals since hes one of the most unique singers/lyricists i've ever heard, musically this doesn't sound much like Modest Mouse, in fact its more rooted in Black Heart Procession or Red Red Meat than anything else.
Favorite Song: Hotcha Girls
MySpace.com - Ugly Casanova - - Experimental / Acoustic / Rock - www.myspace.com/uglycasanovamusic

77. Cursive "The Ugly Organ"

This album doesn't get much attention because it's a saddle creek release and emo boy Conor Oberst as much as I adore him basically takes away all the credibility of bands on that label with his whining. Tim Kasher proves on this album to be an incredible lyricist and extremely passionate vocalist, backed by a variety of instruments with this unique alternative rock cellocore (I can make up genres too) kind of sound The Ugly Organ is a pretty addictive release.
Favorite Song: The Recluse
MySpace.com - Cursive - OMAHA, NEBRASKA - Indie / Rock / Punk - www.myspace.com/cursive

If I were to make a favorite 100 CDs, your ears would be bleeding.

But I haven't found 100 good CDs yet -_- *lesigh*

76. Circle Takes the Square "As the Roots Undo"

As the Roots Undo is easily one of the best screamo albums ever and most of the emo fans who bash it, if not all loved it at one point. Its an explosive release with dual male/female vocals shouting beautifully poetic lyrics over sometimes nothing to loud chaotic sections. While it's kind of the cliche release to love for a screamo fan theres a reason it's cliche because its that good.
Favorite Song: Crowquill
MySpace.com - circle takes the square - SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Punk / Indie / Progressive - www.myspace.com/circletakesthesquare

75. B'ehl "Bright Eyes"

B'ehl are a cutesy canadian twee pop band, while they're a bit too safe at times, they pulled it off simply because they don't need to experiment. They know what they're doing and know how to create great pop songs.
Favorite song: I'm Sorry For Being Such A Crappy Friend
no myspace =((

74. Air "Moon Safari"

I'm not too big on electronic music but this album is so chill and fun I can't help but love it. Does the cover of this album remind anyone else of super mario?
Favorite Song: Ce Matin Là
MySpace.com - Air - Paris - Electronica / Pop / Experimental - www.myspace.com/intairnet

73. Circa Survive "On Letting Go"

I didn't care for Juturna much, which was like smoke to me. Pretty vocals, light guitars all interweaving in a progressive manner and emotionally climaxing. Then when I finished I was kind of like "Man he sounds like a chick," and that was all that it left me with.

This release shows them progressing musically, ethereal guitars, better vocals and even more beautiful lyrics. Though this release contains that smoke kind of quality to it. Except maybe its more akin to a ghost, because unlike smoke it doesn't disappear it continues to lingers on.
Favorite Song: Kicking Your Crosses Down
MySpace.com - Circa Survive - PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - Other / Experimental / Indie - www.myspace.com/circasurvive

72. Mogwai "Come on Die Young"

This is my favorite Mogwai album, each song drifts into the next with spare electronics drifting around and distant noises and then it's all washed away. This is the album I put on late at night when i'm hiding the fact i'm drinking and thinking in my room.
Favorite Song: Waltz For Aidan
MySpace.com - mogwai - Glasgow, UK - Rock / Psychedelic / Metal - www.myspace.com/mogwai

71. Frank Turner "Sleep Is For the Week"

Frank Turner's biggest influence is Billy Bragg and it shows. Not just in his lyrical topics but in his delivery, even when the subject is more personal. While Sleep is for the Week isn't something shockingly new in folk, but it's still a quality release with songs about relationships, getting drunk, punk rock and going to hell.
Favorite Song: Once We Were Anarchists
MySpace.com - Frank Turner - UK - Folk / Punk / Country - www.myspace.com/frankturner

70. Seabear "The Ghost That Carried Us Away"

This is Icelandic indie-pop-folk band Seabear's debut, led by 23 year old Sindri Snær Sigfússon (I can't pronounce that). They create a beautiful mellow sound including, pianos, acoustic guitars, violins, gentle vocal harmonies and poetic lyrics. It came to me at the right time and holds a special Iceland shaped place in my heart.
Favorite Song: I Sing I Swim
MySpace.com - seabear - Reykjavik, Reykjavik - Indie / Experimental / Folk - www.myspace.com/seabear

69. Sunny Day Real Estate "The Rising Tide"

Thats right, I didn't put Diary on here. I mean it was an influential release but you could find tons of bands doing post-emo better. With the Rising Tide they'd established a more unique and cohesive sound and showed themselves to be better musicians and songwriters. They played with a more heavy indie influence then before and I can't really explain it, the release really does remind me of living in Washington because it just holds this sound that reminds me of rainy days.
Favorite Song: Rain Song
MySpace.com - Sunny Day Real Estate - Seattle, Washington - Indie - www.myspace.com/onedayistoppedbreathing

One of my favourite albums this year, im listening to it right now...i think that Semi Constructive Criticism is honestly one of the best songs written in the last 5 years or so.

I never really cared for that Death Cab album much at all after hearing Plans. But there's been so many great albums posted since my last reply: Frank Turner, Seabear, CTTS, Cursive..... all amazing.

Plans is a great album, i'm glad to see someone doesn't have some hipster clouded bias about it because its popular or major label or whatever the problem with it is, it's in my top three death cab albums easily.
