51. Madeline "Kissing and Dancing"

Catie got me into this, catie also got me into Paul Baribeau I forgot to give her props for that but i'll give her props for both now. Anyway I don't really know who to compare Madeline too because most female folk artists suck but she doesn't. I guess shes like a more raw and stripped down Jenny Lewis.

Creating simple, amateur folk songs in vein of singer/songwriters like Daniel Johnston Paul Baribeau would probably make the average folk fan cringe, however thats the charm to it. With his screaming about heartbreak and basic guitar chords hes much more relatable than your Jeff Buckley's of the world.

A perfect description of him, and this is a great album.

It's hard to believe you're at 50 already since this thread hasn't been going for too long.

50. Desaparecidos "Read Music/Speak Spanish"

Omaha saddle creek super group Desaparecidos one and most likely only album Read Music/Speak Spanish is indie-rock with influences from Pixies and Dinosaur Jr. The albums lyrics are essentially about the ever so popular and evil THE MAN.
Favorite Song: Man and Wife, The Latter (Damaged Goods)
MySpace.com - Desaparecidos - Omaha, NEBRASKA - Indie / Rock - www.myspace.com/desaparecidos

49. American Football "LP"

Mike Kinsella (now in Owen, mainly)'s band American Football plays soft indie-rock similar to i'd probably say some Built To Spill. My reviews are awful tonight in case you're wondering, but this album essentially epitomizes my love life and high school experience and stuff with lyrics about broken hearts and more broken hearts.
Favorite Song: Never Meant
MySpace.com - American Football - West - Lounge - www.myspace.com/amfootball

48. Page France "Hello, Dear Wind"

Indie (i'm saying that too much tonight) folk/pop band Page France create nonsensical upbeat songs similar to the Boy Least Likely To. Such topics include getting drunk with jesus and little animals and other crazy stuff like that. I love religion.
Favorite Song: Junkyard
MySpace.com - page france - Marching Band, Maryland - Indie / Folk / Pop - www.myspace.com/pagefrance

47. Dinosaur Jr. "You're Living All Over Me"

This album is 80s guitar rock at its best they melt face live. I really can't think of anything to say about anything tonight i'm in this weird melancholic mood which i've been in lately which results in uncreative reviews. Sorry, I suggest everyone listen to this album though.
Favorite Song: Little Fury Things
MySpace.com - Dinosaur Jr. - Amherst, Massachusetts - Rock / Alternative - www.myspace.com/dinosaurjr

46. Buzzcocks "Singles Going Steady"

70s punk band Buzzcocks are one of the few punk bands that have stood the test of time with me. Maybe its their catchiness, maybe its their dirty words but something about them is addicting.
Favorite Song: Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)?
MySpace.com - BUZZCOCKS - London / ex-Manchester, UK - Punk / Pop - www.myspace.com/buzzcocksofficial

45. Sparrows, Swarm And Sing! "O'Shenandoah, Mighty Death Will Find Me"

This band has post-rock down, with influences ranging from Explosions in the Sky all the way to A Silver Mt. Zion. This album is a beautiful and extensive trip but there songs being of Godspeed length isn't a bad thing seeing as when you get lost in their waves of sound you can't help but want to stay under water for a long time.
Favorite Song: Across Canyons/Canons
MySpace.com - Sparrows Swarm And Sing - NYC / CT /, New York - Indie / Experimental / Ambient - www.myspace.com/swarmandsing

44. Van Morrison "Veedon Fleece"

I have never heard Astral Weeks or anything but I love Veedon Fleece to death. There are very few vocalists who upon hearing them sing I was completely blown away the only ones I can think of are Patrick Wolf, Antony and of course Van. He has more soul in his left testicle than anyone ever.
Favorite Song: Fair Play
MySpace.com - Van Morrison - Folk Rock / Pop / Rock - www.myspace.com/vanmorrison

43. Grandaddy "The Sophtware Slump"

Grandaddys second studio album, its obviously Radiohead influenced and one of my favorite atmospheric pop albums. Though theres one thing I will never understand about this album, is all the OK Computer comparisons. They both hold some futuristic sounding sounds, though Radiohead more so then this. Yes both albums have lyrics on the similar subjects, but two completely different approaches. While OK Computer is more apathetic, The Sophtware Slump is more like a hug.
Favorite Song: Underneath the Weeping Willow

Honestly? is obviously the best song on the AF-LP.

I feel bad for not keeping up with this thread but from skimming through there's a lot of good stuff and some I need to check out.
