I had never listened to Cheap Trick - At Budokan until yesterday. My buddy (who is a big Cheap Trick fan) always told me there was something wrong with me for not listening to it.

Let me tell you this much...I still don't see the appeal of the album.

So you're not that well versed on the Stones. It's not that big a deal. You should definitely give Exile a listen, but, and I usually get alot of heat for saying this, I don't think you're missing too much with the Stones. They're a really good group, and I enjoy their music, but I don't think I'd really have missed out too much if I hadn't ever heard them. Jimi Hendrix's albums, on the other hand, you have to listen to. I bought a greatest hits album from Jimi when I was about 14. When "I got Are You Experienced?" (which shared about half of its tracks with the greatest hits cd I had) it blew me away. Some of the B-Sides I hadn't heard were better than the radio cuts. Also, you need to hear "What's Going On". It is truly an emotional experience that you'll want to hear over again a few times. He gets a little religious if that bothers you, but it should really be taken as an expression of his self, which comprises of Christianity among other things. It was 6th on Rolling Stone Magazine's all time album list, and 1st by any Black artist, and 1st from all the albums of the 70's. Of all the albums you put up, that one is the one you should give a listen to first.
