A surprisingly good spoken word album where Shatner collaborates with several artists. Some rock based tracks, others more punky, some very jazzy, all in all a great mix of spoken word songs.

His cover of Space Truckin was more on the funny and entertaining side than musically enjoyable, so I'm wary. But I may check that out.

Has Been is pretty hilarious as well, but it's got good tunage too.

REAL country music. Been really enjoying this one after not listening to it for a while.

Magnolia Sisters Love's Lies

Traditional Cajun dancehall & ballad songs. Most all tracks sung in Creole.

The Body I Shall Die Here

Wherein The Body team up with the Haxan Cloak and the result is an amazing dark drone/metal/electronic experience.

The Residents - Eskimo

Awesome stuff, my one complaint with this album is that it's only 6 tracks long.

Getatchew Mekuria & The Ex & guests - Moa Anbessa

He's an Ethiopian Jazz Saxophonist. They're an anarchist avant-punk band from the Netherlands.

Together, they made this.

And the Light Swallowed Everything by Seirom

holy hell well this is just great. Seirom is another alias of dude behind Gnaw Their Tongues and Aderlating (both of which i would also recommend if you havent heard/like terrifying ****) and his last 3 releases under Seirom have all been great too. The music has usually been this dark, dense ambient style but this new album is different. Ive only listened to it twice but i can already tell itll end up being a favorite for the year. It's still pretty dark (it's ambient but it certainly uses black metal as an influence) yet it's sonically different than his previous releases.. It's got a more "hopeful" sound to it, rather than just a thick fog of sound. The album cover is apt; the music shimmers and yet still sounds sombre. It really is a haunting and beautiful album. Well recommended. Available to stream on their bandcamp. go check it out and be a cool kid

That's my favourite!
But I've only heard 4 - a drop in the ocean considering their discog.

Still need to check out Third Reich Rock n Roll which I've heard is one of the best.

Birds of Paradise—Flight Patterns (2013)
These two guys manage to pull off something pretty difficult here: they make electronic music that involves a large percentage of 80s massage parlor new age synth sounds and it somehow turns out really, really good. The result sounds a bit like Jan Hammer's Miami Vice score reworked as IDM. All I can think of when I listen to it is some futuristic resort planet filled with gleaming white buildings, pastel colored hovercars and pristine beaches that go on forever.
