Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue
I think this album is on a par with some of the best Beach Boys material. River Song is an absolutely amazing tune.

I've been wanting to get into them but don't know where to start, what's a good intro album? I've only heard random songs here and there. Terrapin Station was pretty sweet.

what the actual fuck. this is amazing. I know ive heard of these guys before but i dont remember ever hearing them. maybe because of that stupid album cover. biig ass mistake on my part god damn. would not be surprised if this manages to sneak into my top 10 of the year holy moley im in love

If you like Terrapin Station, you might also like "Blues for Allah" or "From the Mars Hotel" as they both sound closer to Terrapin Station than other Grateful Dead studio albums. Their 60's studio albums have a more psych/folk/blues/rock sound and their early 70's studio albums have a more country/folk/rock sound. As for live recordings, the band (and many audience members) recorded almost every show they ever played throughout their career. If you want to try some live 70's albums (without overwhelming you with choices) "Grateful Dead" (also known as Skull and Roses) and "Europe '72" are both a good place to start.

I don't care much for their 80's to 90's output, so I can't give any recommendations for those eras.

Telstar Ponies - in the space of a few minutes

Beautiful Scottish album from the 90s. A really cool, singular sound. A lost classic, should be as big as Young Team, etc.

V/A Boogie: Australian Blues, R&B, & Heavy Rock From The 70s

Most of the tracks can be labeled hard rock or blued rock though some groups dig into psych and prog on their albums. It's a great entry place for anyone wanting to check out Australian rock from from the '70s.
