Melechesh - Enki (2015)

I had high hopes for this album and I'm happy to say that it completely lives up to them. It's not quite as much of a slog to get through as The Epigenesis (2010) was which is weird because it's only about 10 minutes shorter. I dunno, there's just something about this album that really keeps my attention. This is just a faster, heavier, and more aggressive album, while still retaining their middle eastern flavor. "Lost Tribes" might be my favorite song off the album and easily in my top 5 favorite Melechesh songs. This is definitely the best metal album I've listened to this year, although Enslaved have a new album out in 2 weeks so we'll see if they hold onto that spot. Either way this is a fantastic album and a great way to get through the doldrums of Q1 2015.

Yeah dude. That's what I listened to first and then I explored their back catalog.

Yeah Melechesh really have a way with hooks, and they have a really good habit of putting incredibly catchy songs at the beginning of the album to hook you in. I mean this was the opening track to their last album

And the opening track off their 2006 album Emissaries which I regard as their best.

I'm happy to hear that. They were one of the first post-rock bands I stumbled upon. A Footprint of Feelings is still my all time favorite.

Thumbs up

I'm a lil late to the party, but good nonetheless. FlyLo - You're Dead!

Was very impressed by this one indeed. Lupe Fiasco - Tetsuo & Youth

Got the CD's for these two today

Julie Doiron - Désormais

Been getting further into this artist as of late. I love her voice and her music. Finding this particular album of hers very appealing. Beautiful and depressing.
