Section.80 is still his best by far for me.

I like the production on the new one a lot better. I'd say that Kendrick is better on Section.80 though. All of his albums have horrible titles though. Fact.

I prefer the production on the new one for the most part but, as you said, he's better on Section.80. I also think it's a lot more fun. Despite a few duds I genuinely love a lot of the tracks on there, whereas I can't see myself ever feeling the need to listen to any track on here unless I listen to the whole thing again.

John Coltrane/Archie Shepp - New Thing at Newport

I could usually post about any Coltrane album in this thread but I've been digging this one quite a bit lately. Shepp's set is great, but it's hard to live up to Coltrane, even if you're Shepp, Ayler, or Sanders. After the set the host announces the end of the show and the audience is screaming for more. I'm usually shouting with them when I listen to the record.

Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (2015)

A continuation of what she's always done. And a continuation of awesome.

SPK - Information Overload Unit

I need to know about more artists that emulate the sound on this album, sometimes harsh noise just isn't harsh enough, but this here, this is damn harsh, and damn pleasing. I wonder what the kids were thinking back in 1981 when they first bought this and slapped it on their turntable.

Damien Dubrovnik - First Burning Attraction

And then there's power electronics artists like this that I also absolutely love, who take the harsh noise and combine it with lo-fi synths to make something beautiful sounding. Over in Denmark they have that kind of stuff down to a science. The first and last tracks on here are fantastic.

Monkey Plot - Angående omstendigheter som ikke lar seg nedtegne

Some very fresh improvisational music that's got hints of chamber music in there. Really one of a kind, so far this is on my radar for my favourite albums of the year so far.

Pretty much a top five noise/power electronics album now, still digging it heavily.

Vanessa Amara - Both Of Us/King Machine

A combo of this lady's two works. It's like a lo-fi take on minimal organ/contemporary classical music, combined with some drone.
