Is the In Rainbows era around when you started listening to them? I can see appreciating it more if that's where I started. I do like In Rainbows (as well as the albums you mentioned), but I reach for Radiohead for a different reason. I started with OK Computer and shortly after Kid A, so I ended up appreciating how good they were at exploring different sounds and atmospheres. They can write a memorable song out of things that individually would barely be considered music. I feel like A Moon Shaped Pool is a return to that.

My first exposure was hearing Karma Police on a NOW cd. I really got into them around the Kid A era (I bought every album then).

It's definitely growing on me, but the hypnotic, growing complexity of their older stuff just isn't there. There's something addictive about listening to a track that is extremely lush and dense that I can't get over.

My favorite tracks are probably Decks Dark, Daydreaming and Identikit (though I really miss the synth from the live version of this track).

But really, I'm just nitpicking because I love the band so much. The new album is excellent.

The Pineapple Thief - Variations on a Dream

Been listening to this album a lot lately. It's so good. Everything that I love about The Pineapple Thief in one album.

I think it was kind of a given that I'd end up digging this album, cause I loved the last two LPs these guys did as well. Still, I like what they're doing on this one. Their are a lot of super short tracks but it doesn't leave them feeling under-developed by any means, and lyrically I feel as if they matured, without leaving the emo tag behind.

Kano - Made in a Manor

I've been meaning to listen to this for awhile. I really enjoyed it when I finally did. It has gotten several spins from me in the last few days. Currently listening to it again right now. Grime is having a pretty good year so far.

Really struggled to get into this one, even though I consider myself to be a fan of most of his work. Still, New Banger is, well, a banger.

EDIT - You know, listening to it again now has kind of changed my opinion. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit more than I did on it's release.

Very Cures/Smith's esque. Kasher's next album carries that sound but his third record almost abandons that complete melancholy sound for more instrumentation and broader song topics. Great album though.
