There are a few hooks that you won't find anywhere near a cLOUDDEAD album.. but it doesn't stray to far from the standard anticon hipster fuzz. Overall it's a solid album, but gets a bit repetitive. Why?'s guest vocals on Kill Tone Pt. II is all I really need anyways.
Great album but indeed a bit repetitive and requires patience. My favorite Odd Nosdam album is No More Wig for Ohio, much more upbeat, loaded with fun samples...it's a trip.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I'll have to check it out then, most of the material I've heard by Nosdam is relatively heavy, it'd be nice to hear him tackle something different for a change.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do love Please Please Me. Not quite my favourite pre-65 album of theirs though (that'd be Hard Day's Night).

XTC - Black Sea

F*ck knows how many times I've listened to this album, but I still can't get enough of it. One of the best albums from one of England's finest.

Junkie XL - Booming Back At You

Some fantastic Dutch breakbeat/house here. From what I've heard his die-hard fans hate it, which makes me that much more curious about his older stuff.

Overseer - Wreckage

When it comes to breakbeat though, this is even better. One of the best albums I've got in months. Overseer's that bloke who did the Snatch soundtrack as well.

Try this one:
Junkie XL - Saturday Teenage Kick

I love this album. It's a bit outdated now and different from what he did after that.

I was looking around his LastFM page, and that album's pretty popular too. I'll have a look around for it tomorrow. Cheers for the heads-up.

On a soundtrack kick lately:

I still cannot get over the fact that his original band was Pop Will Eat Itself

I have both versions of the soundtrack because I'm a Romero zombie freak. Brilliant proggy atmospheric soundtrack.

I have the DVD and the ripped the music off it, it's such high quality.

^ Very nice, good sir. Do you listen to anything else from Clint Mansell? And that DVD is pretty sweet. I've mentioned this before on here, and I will again and again - those goddamned hand gestures during "Arriving Somewhere ... " just kind of, sort of ****S the whole DVD for me. Meh, maybe it's just me because I don't hear anyone else bitching about it.

I'm completely addicted to this album. Infectious trip-hop, the first half with plenty of world influences and great beats while the second has a more rocky feel. The singer's vocals are gorgeous too.
