it's 30 deg C today and the sun is blistering. its a "tan from my office window" kinda day and therefore time to break out:

Memories in Beach House by Seaside Lovers

I mean this is the perfect embodiment of a tropical getaway (this would fit right in with the thread made of albums that sound like their covers). how wonderful is this (answer: very). I may not be physically on vacation but god damn if Im not trying my hardest to fool myself

The Prefects - Are Amateur Wankers (2004)

This is a compilation with this song being from a Peel session, but this **** is hitting me hard atm. Early post-punk band with little recorded material that has some more punkish but still odd songs but then they had bizarre songs like "Going Through the Motions" which just sounds like the most hypnotic song ever, and then this which I don't even know but somehow sounds like a weirdo punk version of the atmosphere a noodly prog band was going for but couldn't even dream of. And it's immense. This album is fantastic.

All I know about that band is that damn hit single they had. The 90's were sometimes tough on the ears.
