Good to hear you dig them. You're right as well, it's a shame Moulding and Partridge didn't use this psychedelic element more than they did, as they really do prove themselves to be very good at it. Shame the Dukes are as overlooked as they are (hell, I'll broaden that statement to include Moulding and Partridge as general songwriters).

As for me;

^ I'll never get sick of this album. Such a great, pissed off, razor-backed and gritty piece of hard-rocking, new wavey work - gotta love it.

^ Said to be the first country rock album. Seeing as I'm no expert and don't really have the incentive to research those claims, I'm not sure myself. It is a fantastic LP from Gram Parsons' outfit before he joined the Byrds though, which is probably the most important thing.

^ And I've just been reacquainting myself with this after a few months of having lost it to a near-disastrous mini-crash on my EHD. A fantastic and truly fascinating mix of dark ambient, progressive and industrial influences this.

Recorded just 3 weeks before Dolphy's untimely death, Cornell 1964 is over 120 minutes of amazing live jazz. This album, although recorded in 1964, wasn't released until 2007. A plus for me, It was recorded at a venue @ Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where I've been privileged to see some of my favorite shows.

I've been listening to alot of new stuff lately, a few bands I've recently been getting into an new albums by old favorites... with a few personal "classics" for good measure...

Wait for Me - Moby: Really mellow, but elegaic, ethereal souning.... like it or not, this is what this guy does best, and he uses it to full effect on this, his first non big labelrelease. I hope there's more to come, because this is great.

Untitled # 23 - The Church: I have loved every release by these guys, my favorite band, pretty much of all time... but this one takes it up yet another notch, the melodies are outstanding, the lyrics introspective, curious and just powerfully evocative... its like entering some amazing bewildering dreamscape that by the end of the disc you just don't wanna leave...

Ki - Devin Townsend: This has gotta be the least Heavy album he has made, but it doesn't suffer for it all, this is right up there with his best, Terria, easily... it first struck me how much more groove this has than his previous work, then I found out he worked with a blues / Jazz drummer for the first time on this album and you can hear it. But there isn't a dud track on this disc, thats for sure.

Swoon / Carnavas - Silversun Pickups: MY "new" discovery band this year... these guys make the sorta dreamy guitar soundscapes that made me love the Smashing Pumpkins, that drew me to the Church and that generally make me a happy music listener.... I am looking forward to seeing how their career unfolds...

Because of the Times / Only by the Night - Kings of Leon: I use to really hate these guys, but man, they got to me... Because of the Times is a great balls out rock album. Only by the Night is more like the Sunday morning after in alot of ways, but no lesswonderful to listen to...

Loving this, I had to download this after I read Jackhammer's description, Lateralus came up with the goods. Quirky folksy stuff, Tom Waits is a decent comparison, but the vocals are so lovely and animated that I prefer it to most of his stuff.

Oooh so you liked it! I love how its quirkiness sets it apart from most other female/folk singer songwriters. Very decent album. Thanking jackhammer for the recommendation. Also, I wasn't aware of this before but she was Tom Waits' nanny for his three children before she became well-known!

I love me some trivia. And yeah, great album - it gets off to a shaky start with Summertime, but Seed of Wonder is so good.
