^ Landmark drum 'n' bass here and an absolutely superb album as well. Fittingly psychotic beats and they work so well together with the vocals where they're opted for.

^ Still my favourite British punk album by a country mile.

^ Some very decent ambient here with some shades of post-rock to it. I reckon it'll take a few more listens to fully click with me, but I do like it so far.

^ This one's up and down. Some terrifically rowdy numbers, but a lot of it's just as harebrained and unspectacular as a lot of the oi punk I've heard.

I should say that the solo at the end of Beautiful Freak is one of my favourite musical moments from 08, soooo good. If only 2mex were a better lyricist.

I love Brown Sugar! Have you heard Voodoo? That too is brilliant, and having Pino Palladino on bass definitely helps things.

I bloody love this album - there's something about it that makes it fit together so well. It's rootsy but not as rootsy as the Meat Puppets, it's angsty but not as angsty as the Violent Femmes, it's aggressive but not as aggressive as what went before it, and it's an 80s post punk masterpiece but not anywhere as protracted as Zen Arcade or Double Nickels. It just works!

I remembered liking Waiting by the Bridge that Anteater contributed to a MB compilation months ago so I decided to dl the whole album today. After just one listen I can tell it's something special and a kick in the balls to anyone who thinks modern prog is all lousy. It's fairly eclectic overall but it is redolent of Gentle Giant, Freak Kitchen and Yes in particular.

Great NoW album. Hard to conveniently shove into the trip-hop/downtempo genre.There's a lot of strong hip-hop beats in here as well. Very solid and organic sounding production.. I like this one a lot.

Man, I still can't get enough of Ki by Devin Townsend... totally brilliant blend of sounds, from the most laid back stuff he' ever done to his bone crunching heaviness, this is damn brilliant album, from a guy whose work I've always admired.... but he' totally bettered himself and I have a good feeling he's going to keep getting better...

Oh I'm not at all trying to imply that it's massively progressive as hip hop albums go, but that it's literally a prog rock/hip hop hybrid, and the TMV influence is blatant throughout the album.
