Now enjoying some accoustic Go Betweens, cheifly from the 16 Lover's Album.... darn good, serene way to see out the last waking hour of my day...

The Moog Cookbook - The Moog Cookbook

(i'd post a picture but noobs like me are not allowed)

it's all cover songs - nirvana, pearl jam, rem, soundgarden - but all are done on old analog synthesizers. very, very bizarre. i love it

Vieux Farka Touré - Vieux Farka Touré

^ Son of the late, great Ali Farka Touré, his debut here captures the wonderful, unique sound of Malian desert blues superbly. He's either got a new album out recently or it's still in the pipeline. Either way, I'm intrigued.

Junkie XL - Music From SSX Blur

^ The soundtrack to a snowboarding game of the same name, it's a bit more watered-down than the more hard-hitting breakbeat sound he usually goes for, but there are still some sublime tracks here on a very good album.

Leonard Cohen - Various Positions

^ 2 or 3 great songs, but otherwise it's as mediocre as the thinking behind its title.

Amorphous Androgynous - Alice Ultraland

^ And I still can't get enough of this. Great neo-psyche freak-out kinda stuff.

I finally pulled my finger out and got around to downloading a load of albums I should of downloaded a long time ago. Still in the process of giving them all a listen, but these 2 stand out for me so far:

Really, really love it. Some tunes I grew up listening to, but now I finally have them. Blinding album.

Making the same racket that BJM and Modest Mouse got massive praise for, but 10 years earlier. Lovely stuff.

What's the MB opinion of Van Morrison. This is the first I've really sat down and listened to him and I enjoyed it.

Tonight's digging...

Isis - Panopticon... some brilliant soft /loud dynamics and just a great BIG sound, coupled with epic tunes, most of which were seven or more minutes length... freaking awesome!

Blur - Parklife.... arguably some of Blur's best work... tuneful, interesting, varied... pretty damn solid album.

Signal Morning-Circulatory System. They released a great debut in 2001 but nothing else until this one just recently, one of my favorites of the year.

Beached Earls-Thee Headcoats. Great garage rock.
