I checked out samples of The Empyrean and yeah it's definitely not like LITE, but it did sound pretty good. Some of the vocals in the clips I didn't care for, but I got the impression that it was a really well-written album. I may check it out eventually. And I have heard of the band Ataxia, in fact I put an album on my "to look into" list a while back, just haven't checked it out yet.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Funny, I like Something About Airplanes and We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes best. I hadn't heard The Photo Album yet when Transatlanticism came out, and I found that one quite a bit boring. I eventually went back to The Photo Album and liked it better, but still prefer the other two. Plans was not bad (more enjoyable than Transatlanticism for me) but a bit too pedestrian, and I haven't heard Narrow Stairs just because my interest in them has been low since 03.

BUT...for someone who's only heard Narrow Stairs your advice seems sound. The early stuff is a different sound.

I vote Sgt. Peppers, but all are excellent.

I finally tried Khanate's self-titled. I was scared off of them because people said they were "just noise". (Don't know why, considering I love the Melvins.). One of the best bands I've ever heard! Doomy sounds, tortured shrieks, and repeated evil vocals. Just incredible.

I'm also digging Burzum's Hlidskalf (or however you spell it). Quite relaxing.

(Sorry, I think I double-posted. Don't know how.)

Bjork- Vespertine

Dear God this is a near masterpiece. I don't care if it's the ultimate estrogen album, I love this.

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam

This is WAY BETTER than everything I've heard about it.... it's a darn fine alt rock album, that's what it is! Full of the stuff I love from this band! Thoroughly recommend it, against all popular opinion...

Now very much enjoying Machina by The Smashing Pumppkins... it must be overlooked albums by well known bands night for me...

^ Some fantastic, modern ska that bears quite the resemblance to the 1st wave before the coming of rocksteady. First time I've dug this out since I first got my grimy claws on it almost a year ago now. Supoib!
