R.E.M - New Adventures in Hifi.... a damn good album, still sounds great to this very day!

Better than Let it Be, I think. Confessions is one of the best songs ever.

Also I would check out their next two albums, Hallowed Ground and Why Do Birds Sing? They cover different subject matter; the former is a lot darker and has some Christian themes, and the latter is real existential and stuff. Both great albums though.

This is so good too. The Feelies are incredibly influential. If you like this, you should check out their next album, which took 6 years to create. It's called the Good Earth and it's basically the Velvet Underground to their The VU and Nico. Amazing autumnal sound with great production by R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, whose guitar playing was massively influenced by the Feelies' classic debut.
