Erik Satie is probably the best, and most well know, of the 'impressionists' (he does a mean Christopher Walken). It really is a different mood to most other piano based compositions, I can't listen to too much of him in one sitting but he is great in short doses

Yeah, I was expecting much more lively, virtuoso stuff like the other piano composers I've heard. Can see how listening to this all day can drag on, but fortunately even the compilation I've got's a fairly small dose - looking at the running time of each track, it can't be any longer than an hour in total (which funnily enough's another thing that surprised me about the guy).

Either way, I'm having one of those nights when I don't really know what I feel like listening to, and Satie's great for that kinda situation.

Yeah I gotta be in the right mind to listen to him, but he's great when that mindset is reached. There's no doubting how powerful it all is despite it's simplicity

Yep, went for some Arcade fire - Neon Bible, in fact! Should be most enjoyable indeed!

I liked This is my Truth... but I dunno, didn't love it... it had some great melodies on it and even some good lyrical ideas but i dunno, I found it a bit too bland and vanilla in places... that's not to say it wouldn't be a wonderful listen to another... it's just not my thing really, not really a fault of the album itself...

Crime In Stereo "I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone"

I'd never heard this band before and based on their description I went into this album with expectations of a fairly decent though not necessarily memorable punk album and came out pleasantly surprised at how much better than that it was. I'd almost say it's more on the indie rock side of things than hardcore punk.

...I've heard The Holy Bible is a great album by them, and their best. I want to hear it, can't believe I'd never listened to them before...
