^ I've sampled his stuff before, as they've been talked about here a few times, but this song is working for me much more than anything else has in the past. And that's good, because he's on the bill with another guy whose music I like, Deru, coming up in June.

The "breakdown" type stuff that starts around 1:37 is reminiscent of some other stuff I've been listening to. Can't put my finger on a specific track though. I'm thinking Kelpe or Architeq.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Actually that's not a complete version of the song. On the album I bought (yes I actually bought it) it runs at about 6 minutes and 23 seconds. Regardless I think he's like DJ Shadow and uses oodles of samples so it's really hard to track down everything he's ever used. Still it's an amazing CD that I would totally recommend.

Yeah I wasn't really saying it was sampled, moreso that it was a similar style. I checked out some other songs on YouTube from the album and the style reminded me of Flying Lotus and a bit of Nosaj Thing.

I'm going through a super huge Jesus and Mary Chain faze, and they're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. This album is a close second to Psychocandy.

Convinced me to get Odessey and Oracle today, which I haven't gotten around to listening to yet, but I'm definitely psyched.

^ And I've been thinking of getting Begin Here lately, being already a fan of Odessey and Oracle. I know it won't compare, probably why I haven't jumped on it.

While this is true, Begin Here is pretty damn good. It has a much different feel than Odessey and Oracle, but there are some great tracks on there.

Yeah, Begin Here's worth having, and there are a few great songs off of it (She's Not There for instance). It doesn't all kinda melt into one experience (in a good way) like Odyssey and Oracle does though. Both are of course very different albums though.

Yeah got that too. It was your post of one of his tracks that reminded me that I hadn't ripped any of his CDs yet so I dug out a few. And of course it's a proper album

'She's Not There' is great. I have it already as part of a Greatest Hits compilation. I need to do a track comparison to see what else on Begin Here I may already have, but either way I prefer hearing albums as they were intended so I'll get it eventually.
