Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape (2001)

Such an amazing blend of symphonic black metal, avant garde metal, with progressive undertones. This album is just such a trip and easily the best starting point for newcomers to the Japanese black metal band Sigh.

You know, I've tried to get into these guys. Meaning I've played and gave the albums my undivided attention ... A few times now because a very close friend is crazy about them, but I just don't get it.

Well, quite clearly Immersion by Pendulum right now. A few others that I've been listening too recently as well are:

Join the Q - The Qemists
Drop - Mistabishi

I'm seriously obsessed with this album, they've almost got more plays than Gaga this week & I've managed to force other people into liking them

Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin
the dbs - Stands for Decibels
Olivia Tremor Control - Peel Sessions

All very good music.

Bethany Curve - You Brought Us Here

This was a pleasant surprise. A totally random decision that turned out to be pretty much pure awesome. If what you like about shoegaze is the crazy ethereal soundscapes that are made by waves of guitar that make you want to just crawl into the sound and live there...I do believe you should check these guys out. One of the best shoegaze finds I've had in a while.

Fireside - Fantastic Four

1994 debut LP from this little-known Swedish post-hardcore band. Their sound is sort of like a less hardcore Quicksand.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Just finished an absolute bastard of an essay that's been hanging over me all of last week, and for whatever reason this feels the perfect thing to have on after all that rubbish. Probably my favourite of the man's earlier albums (although I'll probably listen to the Good Son or Let Love In again and change my mind...again).
