Some really solid raw tracks on that album.
Feelin' it and D'Evils are my favourite I think.

yea man, the black album in my opinion one of the last truly amazing hip hop albums we've had out.

I'd never listened to Sonic Youth before but one of my ex-girlfriends went on about them SO much that I thought I'd invest in a discography. Because I just am that CRAZY when it comes to music. However, the discography was a bit intimidating and I didn't know where to start, so the power of the internet pointed me towards Daydream Nation as the most accessible for the first time listener. Even though I find it laughable that this is supposed to be Sonic Youth's 'accessible' album, what with all the noise rock and feedback and the like, it's still pretty brilliant. Not as great as I was expecting from all the hype and their extreme cult fanbase, but it's still an inspirational listen.

Favourite Songs
Teen age riot
'Cross the breeze
Hey Joni

Give it time, it'll eat away at you, it's one of those 'gets better with every listen' albums.

what are other sonic youth songs you'd suggest from different albums? I really want to get into them but I mean, the discography is just too big...

Hmmm, the bare essentials i think would be..

Death Valley 69 (Bad Moon Rising)
Star Power (Evol, great album but its had to choose a stand-out)
Schizophrenia (Sister)
Dirty Boots and Kool Thing (Goo)
Sugar Kane and Youth Against Fascism (Dirty)
Bull In The Heather (Experiment Jet Set, Trash and No Star)
The Diamond Sea (Washing Machine)
Sunday (A Thousand Leaves)
The Empty Page (Murray Street)
Reena (Rather Ripped)

For starters anyway.
