Boardsofcanada's mini review got me to drag it out after letting it collect virtual dust on my hard drive for a while. A little too close to the trance side of IDM to be a regular thing for me, but It's definitely good to have a nice, loud listen every so often. Today, I guess, has been one of those days.

Pretty cool, chill stuff. Nice record to sit back and relax to.

The "editorial review" even says "Residing somewhere between Black Flag and Black Sabbath..." though I'm not sure I hear any Black Flag personally, though there is a punk/hardcore sound on some songs. It's not just metal.

Sounds interesting, I'll have to check that out. I've been listening to a lot of this type of stuff lately.

Your firewall won't stop you from getting a virus embedded in a file you yourself downloaded. If you have an antivirus program with an up-to-date virus definition database, simply download the file then scan it. (usually you can just right click the file and select "scan" if you have an antivirus prog)

Only takes a couple seconds, and if it comes up with nothing you're in the clear.
Of course, sometimes the actual link you click on can actually run a malicious script and all that... but that's where your firewall comes in.

Autolux - Transit Transit (2010)

I was a little hesitant with my first listen. It didn't rock as much as Future Perfect, yet it was still really captivating, or at least enough to keep me listening to the end. When I sat down later with headphones (like this album deserves) I really discovered how deeply layered this album is, with so many sounds going on in the background, each one of them definable with headphones. Six years in the making (some of that time was record label stuff) which interfered with the release date. With a few more listens with headphones I think I'll really be able to dig into this album. Until then here's my favourite song off it so far:

Ah, right. That's a good 3 years I've had this comp and been downloading musicks, yet I've never actually tried scanning individual files as they come in like that before. I must just have been hella lucky. Cheers for the info

I suppose I'd better post an album I've been a-diggin' again...

Lisa Gerrard - The Silver Tree

Mm, new age...

I'm sure you'll agree with me when I say this one's in the running for coolest sleeve artwork ever too.

Top album besides that as well - possibly my favourite Lisa Gerrard solo effort.

Woah... Bulldog, thank you so much for posting this. Agreed about the album cover too

Love this 'Space Weaver' song, ambient and ethereal, and I love it.
