Absence is without a doubt in a league of its own when it comes to industrial hip hop. I remember reading Urban's 100 top albums or something and quite surprised to see that album on his list. The album does so much right that it's impossible not to respect it.

Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent (2010)

Definitely a worthy follow up to Hosannas from the Basement of Hell but not as strong.

Exactly how I feel man. I actually found out about it in urban's top 100 too. I've also been meaning to check out Killing Joke. What album/songs do you think I should check out?

TBH Pete, I'm really digging this so far and think that its just as strong, if not tighter, than Hosannas. Give it some time to sink in eh? :]

theuglyorgan: Check out both of Killing Joke's self-titled records to start with, then try out Hosannas from the Basement of Hell. Also, most of their stuff from 1980-86 is quite solid as well, so its just a matter of checking out what looks most interesting to you.

I've been digging quite a few things lately, from synth-folk to weird pop and whatnot. A few examples-

Wakey!Wakey! - Almost Everything I Wish I Said the Last Time I Saw You...

Some really beautiful piano integrated indie.

(^^ This is probably my favourite song from the album, and unfortunately the only video I could find of this song had these two clowns on it)

That's the album that got me obsessed with them. I've been a bit disappointed with the new album False Priest so far, sadly. I also still have a hard time getting into their early acoustic/psych stuff. It's a bit too...whimsical...for me.

Still one of my favourite Party albums (even though I'm not having a party right now). Reggae, Dub, Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Drum N Bass, Dubstep and dance all vie for attention and it still sounds good.

It's heavy, groovy, experimental and has attitude by the bucketload.
