I'm listening to Don Caballero again, and I completely forgot how amazing this album is. Ian Williams is always in the best math rock bands. Also, this is one of my favorite album covers. If you've ever been in the country at night during a harsh canadian winter you'd know why I love this cover so much. I also love the production on this album, it's so warm and fuzzy, even in the heavily distorted parts.

Now, I hope this is on vinyl because I'm getting a turntable soon, and this is one of my all time favourites.

EDIT: Ha! it is on vinyl!

Manic Street Preachers - Journal For Plague Lovers

Got into this a bit late, but haven't put it down. Richey Edward's lyrics seem to inspire the lads to write the most unbelievable music - their best album since The Holy Bible I think, sometimes I even get fits of thinking it's better...

Psychic Ills - Dins

Sometimes the more "psychedelic" leaning psych bands can be a little heavy handed in their progressiveness, but these guys nail it completely. The songs naturally flow in and out of more experimental numbers and straight ahead psychedelic rock. They also have a very unique sound for being so easily labeled psychedelic rock. I'm thoroughly addicted to this album right now, I can't wait to check out their other stuff.

This album is truly good and so is Early Violence, also from 2006. But I haven't heard anything else beside these two. I have to change that.

Søren Huss - Troen & Ingen

I know that there is a language barrier for most of you guys with this album, but it's amazing to I’m posting about it anyway (:
Søren Huss was/is the lead singer of a Danish band Saybia that I’ve always disliked. but now on his own all the things I disliked about his old band (the endless string of sappy superficial love songs) are gone. the album is very dark and full of emotion but not in a bad way. He lost his wife and almost lost his daughter in a car accident three years ago and the album is his way of dealing with the anger, the sadness and the despair - the lyrics are just heart wrenching. This might just be the most honest album I’ve ever heard.
