Sous le Manguier is like Ambient/Minimal Techno/Dub with some World influence. It has the faintest sound of native percussion. It's very interesting stuff. But if you don't like Ambient, you wouldn't like this.

I listened to some of them on boomkat, Ailleurs was pretty awesome but the rest is mostly too ambient for me. Without a pretty blatant drum beat or droning noise, I have a hard time getting into music.

Oh I understand! Have you ever heard The Sight Below? He combines heavy and lush melodies with a very pronounced 4x4 drum beat and it creates a really interesting contrast. I'm not even sure what kind of music you're into, but I thought of him when I read what you said.

Ghostly International is quite possibly my favorite label, tbh I'm a huge fanboy. Like I said, I really like chill music, I just hesitate to say ambient because a lot of the time that implies no drums. You hit the nail on the head with that one though, that's exactly the kind of ambient stuff I like. Just outta curiosity, got any more recommendations like that? It's something I don't have enough of but get fed up sorting through lots of ambient I don't like.

What do you like about it exactly? I'm not familiar with anything quite similar, cause most Ambient is quite slow and doesn't have any real energy. Which is why his stuff is so interesting! It's sort of a bridge between more energetic material like Minimal Techno or something similiar, to Ambient. You may enjoy this stuff, which is more Downtempo and more upbeat than pure Ambient:

However there is some weird anomalies, like Lakefront from M. Ostermeier. It's simple as simple can be, but it gives off such an unsettling vibe that you're constantly engaged. Most Ambient can almost flow right over your ears, but something about this album triggers a weird feeling in me.
