Here's something else from 1989... good starting point for those wanting to get into noise rock (it has a few bits of heavy psych and blues mixed into it).

I'm really enjoying "Crime Slunk Scene" by Buckethead.

How about Workbook by Bob Mould or Love & Rockets' self-titled?

Haven't heard the latter. Not sure about the former, but I feel like I may have.

Well, they're two of my favorite albums from 1989.

I will definitely get on it. Now that I've found 3 or four really good ones, I'm determined to fill out a list before moving on to the next year.

Some other 1989 recommendations if you're interested:
  • Creatures--Boomerang
  • The Telescopes--Taste
