weird....i was about to suggest Black1....but now i think i'll agree with Janszoon.....the Boris/Sunn collaboration is really good

They're definitely one of the hardest drone bands to get into, you're kinda jumping in at the deep end if you begin your exploration into the sound with them.

pleasant, although some of the lyrics go against the grain of what Poe was trying to get across, especially The System of Professor Tarr and Dr. Fether

This album has such a wintery sound, it's perfect for this time of year. Probably one of the best albums I discovered this year. This is some truly, truly depressing music.

I'm completely enthralled with Jesu's Heartache EP and Dethroned demo (combined in 2010). The two together are nearly an hour and a half of casual brutality mixed with beauty.
This song has a bit of everything I love about Broadrick's Jesu work:
