One of my favorite albums to come out of 2011. Wish I'd heard more of it before I wrote my top albums list, as it'd probably have been top 5. An excellent jazzy math rock hybrid. Every song is a keeper.

There's a lot of albums I'm all over right now. Here's a few of them.

Lacuna Coil - Dark Adrenaline
They are getting back to a more goth sound and lots of duet vocals. I like all the tracks but Trip The Darkness and Kill The Light are amazing!

Sum 41 - Screaming Bloody Murder
A few tracks are slow but mostly I like all the tracks. My 2 favorites are Skumfuk and Jessica Kill!

Blink 182 - Neighborhoods
I've heard their old stuff and this new album rocks even more! 2 of my favorite tracks are Up All Night and Ghost On The Dance Floor.

Sharks - No Gods
I've heard some of it but it won't be released till March 20. Arcane Effigies and What Entails are really cool tracks.

Attack Attack! - This Means War
I think I liked their last one more but this one really owns too. 2 of my favorite tracks are The Motivation and The Revolution.

That's all I can remember right now.

The Dead Texan - s/t

Beautiful ambient music. Helping my post-Valentines hangover immensely!

Really good album, stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the best Kranky releases. That's high praise.

Starsailor - Silence Is Easy

I've had this album for a while but never really gave it a fair shake. I randomly stuck this on today and can't believe I let it sit for so long. This is really catchy pop rock...I'd like to say britpop but a lot the music doesn't really fit the bill for that. I'll be checking out their other albums now for sure.

Soundgarden - Superunknown

I've been a huge Soundgarden fan since high school and occasionally I get re-addicted to them. I stuck this on after not having listened to it for ages and it really fit the mood I've been in recently.

Soundgarden has been getting quite a bit of flack recently, but I'll always enjoy these guys.

Hope of the States - The Lost Riots

Been on a nostalgia trip recently, and as a result rediscovered some absolute gems. Hope of the States were one of the most underrated and interesting British bands to come out in years. They released two albums before calling it quits. This album is the more experimental of the two, incorporating prog, post-rock and alt influences. Their guitarist committed suicide shortly before its release, and they never quite recovered from it, even though their second album is actually very good too. Criminally overlooked band, and mostly forgotten now, which is a real shame.

Forgot how much I liked this. A psychedelic, bluesy, distorted masterpiece. I know quite a few who disagree, but I love it.

The Outfield - Replay (2011)

I've always loved this band's cocaine-drenched sonic mixture of The Police, Rundgren-esque power pop sensibility and mid-80's Yes, but they outdo themselves to death on this 2011 comeback. What a gem!
