This has to be my favorite by The Velvet Underground. It meets the perfect middle ground and provides the best of both worlds from there last 2 previous albums.

ok just ignore the "novelty" value (these are all Nirvana covers inna reggae stylee)

just concentrate on the music and singing

they're obscenely high quality

this as well:-



rather fun bubbly stuff

and highly recommended for anybody into punk at all

I'd compare him to Yuck, Thee Oh Sees (only more structured and poppish), and Jay Reatard. Slaughterhouse might not be the place to start, though...I'd recommend Melted first. Unless you are in the mood for some balls to the wall grungey fuzz rock...then go with Slaughterhouse.

I've been avoiding Porcupine Tree for years, but I listened to In Absentia all the way through the other day and now I can't get enough of them. It's rare to find a band that can be dark and misanthropic one song and borderline cheesy the next. I really admire an act that can be serious about their music without taking themselves too seriously. And those riffs. Mmm.
