A Certain Ratio - The Graveyard and the Ballroom (1979)

Pretty awesome stuff, a lot funkier and more dance orientated version of Gang of Four, but still exhibits signs of experimentation that really helped define post-punk as a genre.

Toto as a band are among AOR's apexes rather than this particular record, but I'll vouch for 'Georgy Porgy' and 'Takin' It Back' as being two of their best tracks.

Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik

The best Outkast album hands down. I Hadn't listened to this in ages and had one of those "Oh yeah...this album is freaking awesome" moments.

If you like Bat for Lashes you should enjoy this.

The Kings of Frog Island - The Kings of Frog Island II

The guitars meander in and out like a sidewinder slithering across the dusty scrub of the California palm desert. As with the climate being evoked, the rhythm section is tuned low and the riffs are hypnotic, paying Homme-age to a distinct style wrought forth some 20 years ago by bands like Kyuss and Monster Magnet. TKOFI are based out of Leicester, though you’d never guess it— they wear QOTSA’s legendary Self-Titled as a visage and pound out low-tempo, psychedelic masterpieces that leave the throat arenaceous and the eyes watering.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Piece of advice though: skip the last track after about 3 minutes. Nothing really happens.

pg.lost released this album earlier this year, and it's become one of my top 5 albums of the year. Nearly perfect from start to finish.
