Danny Brown, The Hybrid. This was Brown's first LP, before the overhyped (but still good) XXX. This album has some crazy rhymes, some awesome flow, a whole lot of talkin' bout hos, drugs, booze, and blunts. Pretty stereotypical of the genre, but still a great album. Also, it could win an award for "most awful album cover ever." Seriously, I almost didn't listen to it based solely on the awful artwork. Look at it! I get a gag reflex every time I stare at it for longer than a few seconds at a time!

But I digress. Good album. Here's my personal favorite song from it. Ridiculously fun.

XXX is not "overhyped" for me. Yeah, there are a few corny/weak tracks, but the high points (probably half of it) are amazing. You know how much Hip Hop I listen to, and I always come back to it, even if I end up skipping one or two in the process. Brilliant mixtape.

I didn't say it was BAD. It's very, very good. It just had a whole lot of hype around it, and by the time I listened to it (quite a bit after it was released) I was a little disappointed that it wasn't completely perfect. Possibly foolish of me, but hey, that's the way it was for me.

But yes, I still love XXX, I just don't like it as much as most people seem to.
