This album is just so great. It's like if madvillany was made in the 90s (and I mean that in the best way possible) with a lot more fun.
Listening to this later today. Looking forward to it.

Fugazi- Argument

Been digging through my old collections lately, so I've had this on repeat a lot. Still one of my favorite albums

Oni Ayhun - OAR003

So I'm still eagerly anticipating the release of Shaking the Habitual by the Knife, and having looked into Fever Ray and other Knife-related projects, I stumbled across Olaf's solo project, Oni Ayhun. Being on a bit of a minimal techno binge lately, it couldn't have come at a better time. A Knife sibling doing tech house? I could already picture the five star rating.

He released four EPs in two years, all part of the "OAR00X" series, and I've only devoured two so far. 003, the one pictured above, is melodic and catchy in a way unlike any tech house I've yet heard. The sounds he uses are very reminiscent of what you hear on Silent Shout, and I love it.

Check it aut

Been meaning to check them out, how much of it is instrumental?

Only Gojira album I've listened to, and it's rare to find a relatively new metal album that sounds entirely different, impressive and leaves me wanting more.

Current 93 - Thunder Perfect Mind

Pretty late to the dance with this band. Heard great things about them and bits on youtube, but never listened to a full album to my recollection. Very good weird folk though - so far at least.

Edit: Apparently I listened to Black Ships Ate the Sky near enough two years ago according to last.fm. May re-visit on the strength of this album.

Default Re:Royal City's "Alone At The Microphone"

Reminds me a little of “country death song” by the “violent femmes” A vary good thing indeed. But it also tends to the ironic “hippy blend” folk of a guy like “Conor Oberst”. Say the album “Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band “ for example.Or the Canadian band " the three o'clock train" Or hey what about “Danny and Dusty” a side project from “Green on Red”, “the dream syndicate” and “the Long Riders”. The album to get?” The lost weekend”, a perfect score to the lost weekend marked off on your calendar in the summer weeks ahead.

If by instrumental, you mean tracks with just instruments? Then none. All songs have Thom Yorke singing. Now the instruments used in it are mostly electronic beats, a smidge of guitar and Flea' rockus bass playing. Musicianship's all there

Girls Names - The New Life (2013)
I recently discovered this Belfast band my local indie station. Over the past week I've listened to their debut mini-LP and follow up LP, Dead to Me, and now their brand new LP released this week. I first described their sound as a more up-tempo and surfy Crystal Stilts, essentially combining noise pop, post-punk, shoegaze, jangle pop, garage rock revival, and surf rock. Surf?! Yeah, it works pretty well with the jangly pop. While on Spotify, I previewed the title track for the new album (below) and was really impressed, even more so than with anything from the other two releases. Having now heard the album twice, it's clear they've dropped the surf aspect of their sound and I get a slightly more bleak, post-punk vibe out of it though still jangly. The Smiths and The Cure come through more than on the previous releases. Their sound also makes me think of Violens, who are also heavily influenced by 80s jangle pop and post-punk. So as you can gather it's not the most original sound, but it's a very solid album.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
