It was a long 7 months of ups and downs, goods and mediocres, but I finally have a metal album of the year. Heavy, melodic, varied, and just plain catchy with an appropriate run time. Definitely don't let this one slip by.

Also it has the jackhammer seal of approval as well.
Any metal album that has both the LoathsomePete AND Jackhammer seal of approval has to be good. Going to give this a go.

It took the new Altar of Plagues album a while to grow on me but it's definitely a great album. It seems more focused than their first two albums and the vocals sound more pained and spine-chilling than previously.

I got that too which is what really made the album for me... outside of the overall excellence of it all. I wouldn't really rate my own expertise on metal that high anymore, I've slowed down in that, choosing more melodic (read pussy) stuff than straightout melt-your-face off metal.

I absolutely love this record, too much flak it gets from critics I don't understand. I'm seeing these bitches in a month.

I though it was a good album too and it seemed to have been well-received by critics when it was released. It was wasn't as good as their debut album Carnavas or their Pikul EP but it's still enjoyable none the less. They're a great band live, saw them open for Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails a few years ago, you will enjoy them.

I really don't enjoy their last record, I can't even name a song off it. So I hope they play a lot from their first two records.

Chuck Berry's "The Great Twenty-Eight" Not a 'real' album per se, but still a nice little collection of Berry's greatest stuff.

Yeah their last album was very average. Come to think of it I can't recall any songs from it either, I think I only listened to it twice.

See, and I enjoy singing a long to a song I know. It's very hard to keep the energy going to a song I either don't like or don't know.

And also, Lady Gaga's Born this Way. Dunno if I like it as much as The Fame or The Fame Monster but still a really good album.
