Come the Thaw by Worm Ouroboros

Haunting. I was kind of expecting some kind of black or sludge metal but it more borrows from them stylistically rather than actually being metal. Reminds me of Julianna Barwick at times (in that it kind of sounds like a hymn). A very chilly and melancholic album indeed.

Also features the drummer from Agalloch so that's pretty alright too.

Oranssi Pazuzu - Valonielu (2013)

The band has shed a lot of their black metal roots on this album in favor for more of a stoner or doom foundation, which I think lends itself better to their psychedelic trappings. It is kind of sad because they were pretty much one of the only bands to successfully mix black metal and psychedelic rock, so to see them largely abandon it for other subgenres is kind of sad, but it really does make the album more fun to listen to.

(Can't provide an image because I haven't done fifteen posts yet.)

White Chalk - PJ Harvey (2007)

It's a mellow album and her voice is absolutely beautiful. It has a very dark sound to it that's been rather inspiring for my creativity.

Ta-ku - Songs to Break Up To

It's like, take some really smooth-ass R&B music and Burial-ize it

kinda. Instrumental hip hop? Dubstep? Downtempo? who cares! electronic and soul

Are you familiar with Njiqahdda?

Here's mine:

Psychedelic rock/pop plucked directly from 1969.

One of my favorite PT albums. I really don't listen to this often enough.
